Freehold Regional High School District provides a great education
Regional: adj. of, in, or having to do with a particular region. Freehold Regional High School District; of, in, or having to do with particular areas around Freehold.
Yet again, as I sit down to read the News Transcript I find the annoying articles and scheduled meetings over the regional redistricting. This would not be necessary if people understood what a regional school district is all about.
Instead of listening to your builder, town officials, real estate people or neighbors, you should have called the Freehold Regional High School District offices directly and asked before you purchased your home.
You would have been told that there could be a possibility that your child would be sent to another high school other than the one in your town. It has always been that way.
Instead of screaming at the FRHSD board members, you should be using that energy to go to the town meetings to stop further building which creates the overcrowding in our schools. Scream at the officials who have created this problem by allowing overdevelopment.
The FRHSD provides an exceptional education and is trying their best to continue to do so.
Don’t bite off more than you can chew by suggesting we pull out of the system before you learn the facts, one of which will raise our taxes to the point where no one could afford to stay or keep the high quality of education that we now have.
The high test scores are in part from the excellent elementary education. Individual grades and test scores will remain high no matter where the student is placed within the district.
I know this because my daughter is about to graduate after four years from Colts Neck High School and has excelled beyond our expectations.
In two years I will gladly send my son out of Marlboro. I don’t want him in an overcrowded school with students whose parents are whiny, uninformed and just want to say they are from Marlboro. Who cares?
