Organization helps seniors in the work force

Experience Works is a national, nonprofit organization that offers training, employment and community service opportunities for mature workers.

Available services include programs designed to help mature individuals enter the work force, secure more challenging positions, move into new career areas or supplement their incomes.

Established as Green Thumb in 1965 and renamed Experience Works this year, the organization places skilled, mature individuals in temporary, temporary-to-permanent and direct employment that makes the most of their experience, dependability and strong work ethic.

At the same time, Experience Works helps businesses by filling their workforce needs with workers who bring diverse talents, integrity, common sense and skills from their years of experience.

Experience Works also offers a variety of technology-training services and a number of job-related training programs that include industry-specific programs for areas such as home health care, agriculture, security, customer service and small-business development.

The organization also offers a variety of services targeted to the unique needs of local markets.

Local services include home health care, landscaping, home repair, administration of work force centers, welfare-to-work programs, a statewide older worker information clearinghouse and more. For mor information, call (732) 431-0233 or send e-mail to ellie_jacobs@experienceworks.org.
