MARIE MULVANERTON, 68, of Manalapan, died May 15 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in New York City, she had resided there before moving to Manalapan 35 years ago. Mrs. Mulvanerton had been retired since 1988. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, Englishtown. She was predeceased by a brother, Peter D’Alassandro. Surviving are her husband, Walter; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Denise, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and John and Terry, of Manalapan; a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and John Gleason, of Jackson; a brother, Rocco D’Alassandro, of Manalapan; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, followed by the funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Mercy Church.

LAWRENCE FREDERICK THOMPSON, 49, formerly of Freehold, died May 1 at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born in New Brunswick and grew up in Freehold. Mr. Thompson was a shipping clerk at the Gillman Knitwear Co., Cincinnati. He was a 1968 graduate of Freehold High School, where he played wind instruments in the school band. He attended Stuart Business School, Wall, and the Monmouth Technical Institute. He attended Holy Family Church, Cincinnati. Mr. Thompson was predeceased by his father, Walter F. Surviving are his wife, Denise Clark Thompson; his mother, Helen Tela Thompson, of Freehold; a brother, Raymond, of Norman Park, Ga.; a sister, Judith Robb, of Trenton; and several nieces and nephews. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of private funeral arrangements.

CAROL ANN BAUM, 57, of Freehold Township, died May 25 at the John L. Montgomery Care Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Baum was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and had resided in Marlboro before moving to Freehold Township. Surviving are her husband, Gerald Baum; two sons, Steven M. and Richard J.; a brother, Jerry Berke; and a granddaughter. Funeral services were held at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan. Interment was at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.

ROBERT C. WOLFE, 73, of Manalapan, died May 12 at The Manor, Freehold Township. Born in Cranford, he had been a resident of Manalapan for the past 38 years. Mr. Wolfe was a supervisor in the security office of Ford Motor Co., Edison, before his retirement. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post 54, Freehold. Mr. Wolfe was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel, who died in 1992. Surviving are two sons, William R., of Howell, and Gary C., of Freehold Township; a sister, Shirley Huetteman, of Titusville; and five grandchildren. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.

RUTH A. CAPETOLA, 72, of Manalapan, died May 28 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Jersey City, she had resided there until moving to Manalapan 35 years ago. Mrs. Capetola was predeceased by a brother, William Johnson, and a sister, Phyllis Duva. Surviving are her husband, Joseph J.; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph J. and Julie Capetola, of Garden City, Long Island, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy C. and C. Thomas Barkalow, of Freehold; and five grandchildren. The Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.

ALBERT J. McLAUGHLIN SR., 85, of Millstone Township, died May 23 at The Manor, Freehold Township. Born in Freehold Township, he had resided in Freehold Borough until moving to Millstone in 1985. Mr. McLaughlin was a foreman for the Streets and Roads Department of Freehold Borough, retiring in 1985 with 16 years of service. He had previously been employed by Zlotkin’s Dairy Farm, Freehold Township. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold; and a life member of American Legion Post No. 54, Freehold. Mr. McLaughlin was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 813th Military Police Company as a first sergeant. As part of his duties, he was a bodyguard for Gen. MacArthur. Mr. McLaughlin was predeceased by a brother, Edward M., and a sister, Doris Strieble. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Searby McLaughlin; a son, Albert J. Jr., of Manalapan; a sister, Emma F. Searby, of Freehold; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. American Legion services were held at the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, followed by a funeral liturgy at St. Rose of Lima Church.
